How Does SureSmile® Work?
First, Dr. Scramstad takes digital scans of your teeth and SureSmile creates a 3D model of your mouth. He’s able to see how your teeth fit together from every angle to create the most accurate diagnosis. He can also show you what your new smile will look like before you start treatment.
Dr. Scramstad uses SureSmile software to develop your treatment plan. He can map out your tooth movements and visualize different outcomes directly on a virtual simulation of your mouth to determine the ideal final position of your jaws and teeth. He designs a smile that works for your unique facial features.
The SureSmile system instructs a robotic machine (yup, robots are involved) to bend shape-memory archwires according to Dr. Scramstad’s specifications. The robotic customization offers accuracy to within one-tenth of a millimeter. That’s something that can’t be matched with manual wire bending. Since it’s so precise, fewer adjustments are needed, saving you time, and treatment is more comfortable.
