The Invisalign procedure is just as innovative as the treatment itself! We use computerized treatment planning to help you get a smile you love. Step 1
Consultation
You’ll stop by Straight Smiles for a consultation with Dr. Scramstad. We’ll take digital x-rays and photos and the doctor will perform a thorough examination to determine your diagnosis and treatment plan. If you decide on Invisalign, we’ll let you know the estimated length of your treatment and provide you with a written price quote and payment plan. You’ll feel well informed and ready to get started!
Step 2
Create a Digital 3-D Image of Your Teeth
Using our iTero® Element Scanner, we’ll take digital impressions of your teeth and gums. That means, no gagging on messy impression materials! The wand captures 6,000 frames per second and then creates a 3D image of your upper and lower jaw that goes to our computer. Dr. Scramstad can map out each individual tooth movement directly on the model. He can even show you a virtual simulation of what your new smile will look like before you begin treatment.
Step 3
Pick Up Your Custom Aligners
The 3D impressions we took are sent to Invisalign and the company gets to work fabricating your custom, clear aligners based on Dr. Scramstad’s prescription. When your aligners are ready, you’ll come to our office to pick them up.
Step 4
Pop in New Aligners Every One to Two Weeks
Depending on your treatment plan, you’ll change to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks. Wear your aligners for about 22 hours per day for the best results. While Invisalign doesn’t require adjustments, you will come in for occasional check-ups throughout your treatment so we can monitor your progress.
Step 5
The Unveiling
When your treatment is complete, you’ll be able to enjoy your brand new smile. We’ll also fit you for a retainer (don’t worry; it’s clear just like your aligners) to ensure you maintain your results.
