How Does Invisalign Work?

We use our iTero® Element scanner to take digital scans of your teeth and gums and create a 3D model of your upper and lower jaws. Dr. Scramstad plans out your tooth movements directly on the model and can even show you a simulation of your results before you start treatment. Invisalign crafts custom aligners according to Dr. Scramstad’s specifications, which means you’ll get the ideal fit and a great outcome. The aligners apply steady, gentle pressure to shift the teeth into place. Each set of aligners is programmed to achieve certain tooth movements, so as you make your way through them, your new smile gradually takes shape.

Advantages of Invisalign

Invisalign is suitable for both teens and adults and can address a variety of issues, including widely spaced teeth, crowding, overbite, underbite and crossbite. It’s extremely precise because Dr. Scramstad is able to create a personalized treatment plan directly on a high-resolution, 3D model of your mouth. Therefore, treatment is comparable or often shorter than treatment with conventional braces.

The aligners are removable, so you can brush and floss as you normally would and there are no food restrictions. Since treatment doesn’t involve brackets and wires, the aligners are comfortable, won’t irritate your lips or cheeks and you won’t have to deal with emergency appointments.
