The Benefits of a Virtual Consultation at Straight Smiles

As you may know, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Scramstad and our team made the hard decision to temporarily close our office in an effort to help stop the spread of the virus. Yet, while we’re doing our part to encourage social distancing, just know, our phone lines and email are still going strong. If you need help or have questions, reach out! We’re also setting up a virtual appointment feature so existing braces and Invisalign patients can check in and we can monitor their progress.

As for new patients who have been thinking about starting orthodontic treatment, we’ve got you covered too with virtual consultations. So, if visiting a dentist for Invisalign or braces has been on your to-do list, now is the time to check it off. Here are the benefits of having a virtual consultation at our Kelowna orthodontics office:

Helps With Social Distancing

We love meeting new patients face-to-face but right now, social distancing is crucial for flattening the curve, which is why it’s recommended that everyone stay home as much as they can. With a virtual consultation, you don’t need to leave the house and there’s no physical interaction. Of course, if you have a question or want to hear a human voice, you can call us. Yet, we’ll be able to complete several important steps in your smile journey from a distance. Then, when the situation stabilizes and our office reopens, we’ll get you in for an appointment.

It’s Convenient

It really doesn’t get much more convenient than having a consultation from your couch, deck, kitchen table or wherever you are. You don’t have to get the kids or yourself ready and head to the office. In fact, you can complete the process in your PJs if you want.

It’s Easy

We designed our virtual consultation to be as user-friendly and streamlined as possible. It takes just a few minutes. All you do is enter some information about yourself and your smile concerns and snap a few photos before hitting “send.” Dr. Scramstad will review your information and then we’ll get back to you. That’s it!

You’ll Receive Important Information

After going over your details and examining your photos, Dr. Scramstad can develop a diagnosis and determine which treatment option is best for you. We can then connect with you ASAP and let you know our treatment recommendations, the braces or Invisalign cost based on your needs and how long treatment will likely take. We can also discuss our payment options and financing. This way, you’ll feel confident and informed about moving forward.

Gets the Ball Rolling

Every smile journey starts with a consultation. By doing it virtually, we can complete several steps before you come in to get braces or Invisalign, which saves you time. If you have insurance, we can contact you and even initiate the paperwork process.

No Referral is Necessary

While we always welcome and appreciate referrals, you don’t need one to have a virtual consultation. We can help patients of all ages find out if they can benefit from orthodontic treatment. Then, once our office is open again, we’ll schedule you for an appointment to have your braces put on or to design your Invisalign aligners.

We hope everyone is hanging in there and staying safe! If you’re ready to learn more about braces or Invisalign in Kelowna, book your virtual consultation with Straight Smiles today!
